Meningitis outbreak canterbury

Posted on March 19th, 2026

We know many families are understandably worried following the recent meningitis B outbreak in Canterbury, where cases have mainly affected students and young adults. Health officials confirm that the risk to the wider public remains low and efforts are ongoing with targeted antibiotics and vaccination programmes.

For up to date vaccination records and information please refer to:

  • The NHS App
  • Your childs personal health record ( Red Book)

Keeping vaccinations up to date gives children strong protection against severe infections including meningitis.
