Minor Injury and Minor Illness Service at The Hospital Of St Cross
Patients over the age of 5 years with minor injuries and illnesses can attend the Urgent Care Centre where trained nursing staff will undertake an assessment and give advice and treatment. Patients are able to have X-rays, blood tests and a pharmacy is available at St Cross.
Patients with complex medical conditions, trauma (severe injury) surgical conditions or those requiring advanced tests and investigations will be referred from the Urgent Care Centre or taken directly by ambulance to be cared for by specialists at University Hospital in Coventry.
The Urgent Care Centre does not have the specialist doctors and nurses on site 24 hours a day to be able to care for adults or children who are very sick. Anyone with a severe illness or injury should go directly to University Hospital in Coventry or dial 999 for an ambulance.
You may be aware that our car park now has ANPR cameras. If you are using our car park please accept this message as a reminder to enter your car registration details should you have an appointment at the surgery. There is no need to enter car details if you do not have an appointment unless advised to do so by the receptionist.
We make every effort to give the best service possible to everyone who attends our practice.
However, we are aware that things can go wrong resulting in a patient feeling that they have a genuine cause for complaint. If this is so, we would wish for the matter to be settled as quickly, and as amicably, as possible. Simply contact Irene, the Practice Manager and she will set all the necessary wheels in motion.
Further written information is available on the complaints procedure from reception.
